As a baby, Shawn was adopted and grew up in Radley, Kansas and attended school in Girard, Kansas.

Shawn attributes being bullied all through school, to his love of comics.  In high school, Shawn honed his artistic skills by creating his own comics where he could be the hero and punish the villains, who were often based on Shawn's real live bullies.

Shawn now lives with his wife and youngest child in Girard where he has begun writing and illustrating new stories with new characters after a long hiatus.

Current projects include "Blade of Fiscus: Birth of the Legend," and and children's book based on his son Cameron, "A Day in the Life of Cameron's World."

Shawn's Son and Inspiration

   Cameron is currently a 7 year old first grader and the youngest of five children.  He loves playing at the park, video games, being the center or attention, and is an artist just like his dad.

    Cameron's daily struggle with ADHD inspired Shawn to write a children's book series based on his son.  His hope is the series will give insight into the condition and show it isn't always bad, but can sometimes be an adventure.

   Shawn says Cameron has a smile that lights up every room.  "We are each other's heroes."
